Rebecca joined the County Attorney’s Office in 2006. In 2017 she was promoted to Lead Deputy and in 2021 she was promoted to Chief Deputy. She currently oversees the Assessor-Clerk-Recorder, Controller, Tax Collector, County Health, Assessment Appeals Litigation and LAFCo and represents the Medical Center, Health Administration and the Assessor, Clerk Recorder. In the community, Rebecca has served as Chair of the County Counsel Tax Conference and actively participates in the conference as a speaker on property tax matters. Rebecca is also the recipient of the Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year award for her work as part of the Lead Paint trial team in People of California v. Atlantic Richfield. That case resulted in a $1.15 billion dollar judgment in favor of the Cities and Counties in California.

Prior Experience
Upon graduation from law school in 1999, Rebecca worked as an associate for McCutchen, Doyle, Brown and Enersen doing antitrust and construction litigation. After a brief stint doing environmental and bankruptcy litigation at Sideman & Bancroft she joined the law firm of Coblentz, Patch, Duffy & Bass LLP. At Coblentz, Rebecca handled bankruptcy, employment, accounting fraud and other commercial litigation. Rebecca was also active in Pro Bono prisoner rights and civil rights cases including eviction defense and disability discrimination. Prior to law school Rebecca worked as a political and economic consultant for the G7 Daily Briefing in Washington D.C.
