Department of Housing

The Board of Supervisors recently appointed three new members to San Mateo County’s 15-member Housing and Community Development Committee (HCDC):

• Nicole Moutoux, a long-time resident of San Carlos and long-time community volunteer, recently retired from the US Environmental Protection Agency after 32 years working to oversee cleanup and redevelopment of properties all over California, Arizona, Hawaii and Nevada.
• Elizabeth Moreno has lived and worked in San Mateo County since the 1980's, and currently resides in East Palo Alto. A longtime renter, she is interested in helping the housing needs of the community.
• George Saman, a small business owner, lives in North Fair Oaks and serves on the North Fair Oaks Community County.  For 13 years, he worked for the Department of Defense, living in challenging environments around the world.

In welcoming Moutoux, Moreno and Saman, the HCDC chairperson Ron Collins observed: “Our new members bring a wealth of community knowledge and diverse experience to the complex challenge of setting priorities for affordable housing and community development in San Mateo County.”
