Restricted Status for Either New or Current Employees/Volunteers
- When new or current employees receive a restricted status and Workforce Medical requires further evaluation or testing, it is the responsibility of the employee to get the recommended testing or follow-up. If the volunteer has health insurance, the County will reimburse the volunteer for their out-of-pocket expense.
- If the volunteer has no health insurance, the County will reimburse the volunteer for the entire amount of the test. If the employee/volunteer wants to appeal either the requirement for further testing or the results of the further testing, he/she should call Elaine Simmons at 650-363-4696. Elaine will coordinate a meeting or phone conversation between the employee/volunteer and Dr. Richard Cohen, the County's occupational health consultant. There is no cost for the appeal.
