On Saturday, December 21, Flood Park will open recently completed facilities, including a small multi-use sports field, basketball and tennis and pickleball courts, and the bike pump track. The sand volleyball courts will open once nearby construction of additional picnic areas and restroom is complete. Park hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The main park entrance will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers are asked to park in the back portion of the parking lot that is close to a walking path and maps showing the location of open facilities. The pedestrian and bike gate at Iris Lane will also be open. Parking is free.
Even though construction continues in the park, visitors are encouraged to walk through open, non-construction areas to use the new facilities and take advantage of the open drop-in picnic areas. Please stay on paths and be mindful of new landscaping that requires more time to establish roots.
Because water connections have been delayed, visitors should bring drinking water. Portable restrooms will be available.
